electrical - Can 250V mains damage my 100-240V devices? - Home ...

I measured my supply as 250V, which surprised me as that's 6V above 244V. I checked, and the specification is actually 230 +10% / -6% (so my supply is below the 253V maximum). However, many of my devices (Laptop Charger, iMac, Phone charger, etc) have a range of 100-240V written on the transformer. Is any damage to these devices possible?

In Europe, there were various standards requiring either 220 V or 240 V in various places. Britain even had 250 V in some areas. This was all standardized to 230 V in the EU and surrounding areas (the European Network of Transmission System Operators) so they could be interconnected.
Comparing American 240VAC equipment to European 230VAC

To make things more comparable, imagine a magical world where Europe uses 240 volts instead of 230 volts, and 60 Hz instead of 50 Hz. Now in this hypothetical situation, the major difference we face is: in America we have 2 alternating hot legs, and-- in Europe they have 1 hot leg and a neutral.
Need to reduce voltage from 245v to under 240v for large printer

From the datasheet: Input voltage (auto ranging) 200-240 V two wires and PE; 50/60 Hz (±3 Hz); two power cords; 16 A max per power cord My theory: Split to two circuits to allow for an easier European install. Because in the US the answer would be to install a 240V 40A circuit, but they didn't allow for that.
