Missing files during sync can cause issues while opening the catalog in Lightroom. Please avoid activating your cloud storage's sync functionality while the catalog is in use.

When Lightroom Classic shows an AI edits storage issue at launch, it usually means the local cache used for AI features isn’t accessible or cannot be validated.

Lightroom Classic stores AI masks and other AI data in 'Catalogname.lrcat-data'. Sometimes this file (Mac)/folder (Windows) gets corrupted, or the permissions are getting set wrongly, so Lightroom Classic cannot write to it.

I assume this refers to a problem with ‘catalogname.lrcat-data’, because that is where the AI data are stored, but I have never seen this dialog so I would be interested to learn what support has to say about it.

I've read through some posts on Lightroom Queen of people seeing this error, but for them, they can't seem to launch LRC. I can launch it, browse the catalog and edit photos, but cannot use AI features. Using them causes the error in question. Does anybody else have this problem?

The new AI masking and object removal tools in Lightroom 12 are startlingly good. But when I create a collection in Lightroom Classic, and sync it to the cloud as public, the AI edits do not get synced.

What is the safest way to repair the AI Edits Storage Error without losing the existing catalog edits or the AI edits that are still intact? Is there a supported way to repair/rebuild the .lrcat-data storage, or should I contact Adobe Support directly?
