Lost in Space's budget was reported to be $130,980 in its first season (1965), while Star Trek's 2nd season episode budget was something like $187,500 per, while the the 1st season was something on the order of $192,000, if I recall correctly.

For what it’s worth, our principal cast on Star Trek Phase II is outfitted mostly with custom made TOS boots from Willies Shoe Service in Hollywood, California. Willies has made all the Star Trek boots for Paramount starting with Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979. They continue to make boots if Trekkies are willing to buy them.

I've always loved the regular "lightbrite" style buttons because they defined "futuristic" to me as a kid in the early 70's and with Star Trek being my first exposure to any type of sci-fi. But I love the earlier versions buttons even more now because, well, they actually look functional what with the buttons having labels.

I recently found the transmission dates of Star Trek on the BBC back in 1969 and what a mixed up bunch of episodes it was! Some second series episodes airing before finishing the first and in some cases third season shows coming on before the end of the first! My question is this does anyone...

And what about residuals? Do they continue to make money on syndication revenue, or was it strictly on a per-episode basis? I became curious about this when thinking about former actors of Star Trek series. It seems that most continue after the end of the series with a low profile, picking up small acting jobs here and there and generally not reclaiming the attention that they once had. If ...

I have to say I prefer viewing the TOS episodes in production order over original broadcast order if only because (for example) in the third season, Scotty's hair mysteriously changes styles between some of the episodes. :p Who's with me?!

Star Trek came up first at 190K per episode. I have seen Trek retrospectives where even the production people themselves lament about the " low budget " they had to work with. Obviously compared to motion pictures it had a low budget but not compared to other shows of the time apparently. Is the whole TOS was done " on the cheap " a misnomer?
