Did you have the phone connected to another switch in another area to do the initial phone configuration and registration or did you just take the phone to the area where you have the problem?

I have a 8841 that is stuck on detecting network. IPv4 settings have been manually configured and I can ping the IP phone but the phone does not move past the detecting network message.

I am not seeing these phones request IP's at this point i think these respective phones need to be reset. for the 88/78 series phone press the cog wheel, navigate to admin settings and reset all. for the 7942, disconnect the power/poe cable, press and hold the # key, reinsert the power then enter 0123456789*# when speak light and button light flash once. that should reset it.

After a reboot, a Cisco phone is stuck on "Initialing Network" or "Checking DNS". An office Cisco phone was moved from one office to another. The cables are taken out and swapped around. Each time it's just stucking saying "Initialing Network" or "Checking DNS".
