Beware of Scamaway (Amway) : r/canberra - Reddit

Since few months, I have been noticing a great increase in the activity of Amway MLMs across Canberra. Especially Canberra Center and DFO. Me and my partner spent a quite few time becoming an Amway IBO until we understood that this is all a scam. We lost around $1500 buying stupid useless products to make our uplines happy, we lost some of our good friends as well. Recently they have also been ...
What happened to the Quixtar name? : r/amway - Reddit

It was phased out over a two year period from 2007-2009. There was no official announcement was it went back to the Amway name, probably because the Quixtar name got tarnished, everyone knew it was just Amway with a different name, and caused market confusion. I remember being "fired up" and then it fizzled out, just like everything ...

Amway is recruiting again. An inside look on their process. An overly friendly woman (who we will call Mary) approached my girlfriend at Winners, talking about how successful she is, and how she's on-track for early retirement. My girlfriend immediately suspected a pyramid scheme.

Had a similar encounter with an Amway rep. We sat down for an hour total and it dawned on me after 20-25 minutes or so that I had no clue what the business was, how they were making supposedly millions in revenue, and what my role in the company would actually be. Luckily I was able to avoid the whole conference charade because I'd managed to squeeze it out of him that the parent to this ...

And yes, he literally is brainwashed. Amway uses actual brainwashing techniques- from depriving people of sleep & meals at their conferences to make them more susceptible to fall for their bullshit, to using repetition and songs to drill their bs into people’s brains. In my opinion they are the worst and most cult-like MLM.

So my husband and I are in amway, but I have had negative experience when it came to talking about the business with friends. My coworkers have been nice enough to buy products. But our money is wasting away with buying products monthly just to get points. I feel like if I tell my husband to quit I’m not being supportive but in not trying to loose him over this! I want this to work but the ...
This is how much it cost me to be in Amway every year - Reddit

No, you don't need them to actually participate in the Amway business but good luck getting anyone in the business to even talk to you if you don't. This is the "System" that everyone in Amway is a part of. You have to do at least this to be taken seriously by people in the business.

Amway products monthly “team standard” was 150pv, which if you can’t sell they expect you to purchase. That’s around $450-500 of product. If you didn’t do 150 PV the upline said you weren’t serious. LTD: $90 monthly for the app with audio credits (7 per month), there are other levels of up to $250 a month for “VIP”.
