Sunset – how to determine colors to use in foreground, etc?
www.wetcanvas.com
Hi all – I’m wanting to paint sunsets, but am having difficulty in determining what colors to use in the foreground (for trees, grasses, rocks, etc). The highlights/shadows etc are confusing. I paint in oil, and am wanting to pre-mix all of my colors prior to painting instead of mixing as I go. My aim was to create something a little bit crazy, i.e. kind of “landscape” but not like a normal landscape. Now I would like to know how does it look for an independent viewer. All critique welcome!

May started here with a beautiful blue sky, but the furnace is still working, especially at night… I am addressing here Heikki and Vena’s posts in the finished April Chat, lamenting the absence of most members in this more personal exchange… I would love to say HI! to more as well, but if they don’t care to remain connected it is their loss. For me this is a place to make contact with ...
