Ninite Pro: I have a list already pre-populated via the /select mechanism in my batch file that runs via GPO at sign in. When I join a machine to the domain I know that list will be installed or updated. I go do something else, and all the apps are installed or updated without my interaction. I don’t have to think about it or interact with it, it just works.

I always use ninite.com for simplicity myself but I'm usually installing 7zip and my other "always install" programs. I would suggest downloading a program called "Sandboxie" and opening your Ninite installer I the sandbox. It will essentially show you all the file system changes that happen when you run it (files and folders created etc) so you could probably locate the downloaded installers that way.

Instead of opening apps in windows, it opens all your windows in full screen, then as you open more windows, it tiles them automatically by splitting vertically the folder. You can set snap groups, which groups to be divided vertically or horizontally, and setting windows back and forth between fullscreen/tiled mode and windowed mode is really easy. I usually install k-lite and other apps through ninite on a new windows install. It's completely automated and it seems to select the good options during install to exclude any sponsored software inclusions.

[deleted] ELI5:How does ninite (the actual software, not the website) actually work? I'm really curious on how ninite automates the installation of the software it offers. Do the developers of the software give them an installer that has no dialogue or do they have command line arguments that basically tick/untick all the options? Archived post.
