I am tempted to use Sci-Hub sometimes as the library often takes a while and sometimes, I'm scanning 10 articles to pick one or two for my actual research. Sci-Hub is blocked on the campus internet but I can connect my laptop via a phone hotspot temporarily or do it at home. Do any of you use Sci-Hub? How do you consider it ethically?

My university has a bunch of journals and books for free on the library website. They also give us access to web of science and similar websites and they also told us about sci-hub but more in an unofficial way. I love that they give us so many recourses and aren’t just out for money Reply reply Spiritual-Bear4495 •

No updates have been posted by the Indian press or by Sci-Hub regarding an update to the timeline, as far as I am aware. This post will be updated when any news comes out. 2020-12-25: In December HindustanTimes reported that no new articles will be retrieved by Sci-Hub until the Jan 6 court hearing, which was pushed back to late February.

Sci-Hub is safe but you can also check any files you download from there or elsewhere on VirusTotal which runs antivirus checks from dozens of companies on the file.
