I am back already, with a new article I wrote about my experience with Paperless-ngx. I have been using Paperless for years and really enjoy it very much.

I have tried most, but by far love paperless-ngx the most. While it is fairly "simple", by tags, corospondents etc, I am able to find any document withing moments. The other popular open source one, paper-something, is way to folder like to my tasting.

Paperless-NGX is running on a Synology DS223J NAS and it feels pretty sluggish. I don't really care if the OCR process takes a little longer, the important thing for me is that the web interface is fast and "snappy".

is paperless-ngx secure? I was researching paperless-ngx and have seen a lot of favorable comments here. I haven't seen anyone mention safety and security. I noticed on their website that it uses machine learning. Connecting documents with my personal information to something that uses machine learning or anything really makes me pause.

I use {correspondent}/ {created_year}/ {created_year}. {created_month}. {created_day} - {title} as my default storage path to achieve exactly that since I mount a CIFS volume I use on my Windows clients as well into paperless-ngx, this makes it easy to also access the PDF’s via any client and not just the paperless-ngx web UI.

Paperless use my own folder structure I am planning or would like to have Paperless-ngx running as Docker. Thanks to numerous tutorials, I have also managed this well and have already made documents available to it on a test basis to see how well the OCR works.
