Thoughts on discount tire? Worked there for a little under a year now. Almost everyone I know who uses discount tire loves them, but I've heard horror stories too. What's the general opinion OF DT from others in the industry?

Discount tire direct is gone! After ordering countless sets of tires from them and just about to buy 3 more sets for my cars, I logged into discount tire to find this message. I've never been a big fan of tire rack. Their prices have always been way too high imho. Where is everyone else's go to North American tire site?

The reason I went with discount tire last year instead of costco was that costco did not have the capability to actually replace my wheels or do real maintenance on my car.

Discount tires has certificates they sell for irreparable tires, depending on tire cost, but usually $20/tire. The certificate replaces the tire with a brand new one, no prorated charge like Costco, free of cost.

There is another possible route to get a full refund but I don't advise it unless it's legitimate. You could inspect the full set of tires for aspect nonconformities and return the entire set based on a nonconformity of a single tire and the tire manufacturer will refund the full price of the tire including the mounting and balance.

Discount Tire (In my area its America's Tire) measures the tread across the tire - at least they did for me - and reported the lowest number. Some Teslas have tread wearing quicker on the inside portion of the tires. Grab a tire tread gauge and measure it yourself. They don't cost very much.

(Discount tire Cert is good for 3 years) If you buy from Discount Tire, the base cost is always cheaper and they price match everyone. But the Certificate added up quickly. I have 54k Miles on my OEM tire right now and will be changing at 55k , currently on 4/32 inches Tread.
