The main reason people say to change your crosshair is because the standard crosshair is simply not that great. I can't even remember what it exactly looks like, but I remember it's just too big and distracting. You can try different crosshairs and just see which one you like.

This is how to set up outer crosshair dots, then using the top dot to maintain aim on the target's head while crouch-spraying. Works for most weapons and ranges.

But valorant is implemented in a pretty clever way, where the "scale" of the resolution (size and aspect ratio) only affect UI elements. Ability icons, minimap etc will vary with resolution, but player models, guns, environment, abilities etc will have the same size and aspect ratio regardless of resolution.

That's why they SHOULDN'T use firing error, all it does is make them reliant on their crosshair to time deadzones. For anyone gold-plat or above who isn't boosted, they most likely have the timings for shooting down completely by muscle memory already, so the only thing a moving crosshair would do is make taking fights more annoying since your crosshair is changing size everytime you're strafing

You crosshair on same settings look different depending on your ingame screen resolution. I think a lot of people are simply not aware of this. In the screenshots you can see what I mean. So if you are copying someones (streamer's, pro-player's) crosshair settings - you should be aware of their game screen resolution and how it compares to yours.
