Noticed that the security and ticket checking is very high. In past years never checked, Now there is a ticket checker on the platform in Termini checking the L Express tickets, Most of the previous discussions about not paying tickets revolved around traffic tickets, Don't know of any postings regarding tickets from Trenitalia.

I just bought tickets over the Trenitalia website yesterday. I tried in the morning (Eastern daylight savings time) after having trouble using the site at night. My first credit card didn't go through but the second card did.

Just another suggestions - before leaving print out the train schedules from Trenitalia for the destinations, dates and times that you would like to travel - have a couple of options.

I'm thinking the same, Allan. I'd be more worried about the flight being on time. Also, If that flight to Fiumicino is a transatlantic or other lengthy one - and THEN you have to get to Florence, deal with the luggage and get to the Uffizi - I'd be concerned about being too exhausted to appreciate this very busy museum's priceless collection?

One portion of the trip requires that I use Trenitalia (high speed trains) from Rome to Verona. I would then transfer in Verona on a Eurocity train to Munich. The suggested itinerary has the Italian train arriving at Verona at 12:37pm and the train departing for Munich at 13:04. Is this a safe amount of transfer time?

Sunshinegirl123, Both Trenitalia and Italotreno have already published the discounted and the walk-up fares up to December 8. Just Enter your days of travel and do the math.
