Opinions on leathered vs polished quartzite? : r/CounterTops

I have fabricated quartzite with both finishes. I've done a significant amount of Taj Mahal with a leather finish. I can assure you it is no more porous than the polished finish. Quartzite is such an incredibly dense stone that it's less prone to staining than other granites. Choose the finish you prefer with confidence and enjoy your new countertops.

You approach the Taj Mahal and get your first glimpse through a massive archway. It’s clear that it was all designed purposefully. There was a deep haze hanging over everything — part fog, part smog. The structure looked two-dimensional from a distance; almost like a ghost that will vanish if you turn away just for a moment.

I originally picked Taj Mahal quartzite - I loved it, but folks on Reddit say it stains, and they regret it. So, looked at Quartz didn’t find anything that I thought looked great in my kitchen, but then folks online say it chips and stains. Granite, it is so busy looking for me, but holds up well.

The housing will be the same. If you know you’ll be housed on base, you’ll either be in one of the dorms. If you’re lucky, you could get the Taj Mahal which is more like a hotel. FLETC really doesn’t discriminate when it comes to housing. I’ve heard of SACs being put in a dorm rooms. Classes are business casual, but you can wear whatever after class.

Looking at a slightly ...

Visited Taj Mahal in my childhood…was awed by it…recently visited Dilwara Jain temples in Mount Abu and frankly I was so much awe struck by the intricate marble work…damn those were some artisans and sculptors…impressed me much more than Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal, probably one of the few historical monuments which isn't underwhelming as compared to its pictures and videos. I saw it this morning for the first time, and am still in awe of this structure.
