Hi does anybody know how to totally remove the HP Support Assistant, I have tried several times with just uninstall but there is still remnants of the program installed.

That the HPSA does not any longer install -- and apparently does not support -- your aging system is not as significant as is the fact that the HP Image Assistant does not support the system at your current version of Windows. It's normal -- HPIA is a commercial product meant to support business class systems.
