The MODIS instrument is operating on both the Terra and Aqua spacecraft. It has a viewing swath width of 2,330 km and views the entire surface of the Earth every one to two days.

There are two MODIS sensors in Earth orbit: one on board the Terra (EOS AM) satellite, launched by NASA in 1999; and one on board the Aqua (EOS PM) satellite, launched in 2002. Since 2011, MODIS operations have been supplemented by VIIRS sensors, such as the one aboard Suomi NPP.

MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) occupies a unique niche in the satellite ecosystem: it trades spatial resolution for temporal frequency and thematic breadth.

MODIS data products, in three different resolutions — 250 m, 500 m, and 1 km — help improve our understanding of global environmental processes and dynamics occurring on the land, in the oceans, and in the lower atmosphere.

MODIS measures the photosynthetic activity of land and marine plants (phytoplankton) to yield better estimates of how much of the greenhouse gas is being absorbed and used in plant productivity.

Modis is proud to announce the opening of its new showroom in Erbil. Discover our collections that combine contemporary design, exceptional craftsmanship, and lasting comfort.

MODIS (Mod erate resolution I maging S pectroradiometer), NASA tarafından geliştirilmiş görünür ışıklı ve kızılötesi alanlarla çalışan radyometre. 1999 yılında Terra (EOS PM) uydu ve 2002 yılında Aqua (EOS PM) uydu fırlatıldı.
