I'm filling out a form with information about my publications, and one of the fields is "Type of Journal." I'm not sure what this means, except that SCI and EI are possible values. I'm guessing the former refers to Science Citation Index, but I can't find what EI is.

What happens if I am unable to pay the article processing charge after my paper was published in a open access journal? I had asked for a full waiver from the very beginning and clearly communicated that we cannot publish unless a full waiver is granted (and even before submitting the rights form I requested them) but they did not revert.

I have submitted an article to an Elsevier journal and received the manuscript with reviewer comments and a "revision response due date" within the Elsevier evise system. I am unable to meet that deadline and I need to ask for an extension.

What happens if I don't pay the fee? Your paper will not be published by this journal. Will it affect my chances of future publications in other journals of the same publisher? Probably not. I doubt they track this behavior. Many of Elsevier's journals are edited independently, and will not care about a mistake made in a different journal.
