My guess would be \AppData\Local\Temp, but keep in mind they may not be .txt files. Word for instance when doing autosaves generates .tmp files, so if notepad is using a similar mechanism then it may also be using a similar naming scheme.

Chrome used to also use the %AppData% directory to store it's an executable file, which basically allowed any user to install Chrome on their PC since the have full permissions to the %AppData% directory. It isn't relevant, but Chrome went away from that directory, for a variety of reasons a good number of years ago

D: (Older Drive Name)\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\default and then from there copy the Bookmarks file and paste it in the new OS at the same location in different drive like in my case it was C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default.
